“The facilitation of the workshop was just really incredible. It was wild. I kept looking around the room and seeing how engaged everyone on our team was throughout the entire day...”
Brianna Rohrhoff, Director of Corporate Events & Strategic Sponsorships, Smartsheet

Meetings v Workshops…
My definition of a workshop is any purpose-driven convening where attendees are active participants in a collective effort to generate insight and action beyond what those individuals could achieve alone.
This could mean a small group of 10 boardmembers or hundreds at an annual conference.
A Meeting
More passive and predictable
Simpler (fewer interconnected parts)
Better for simple information sharing and basic decision-making
Less planning required
A Workshop
More active and less predictable (based on emergent thinking)
More complex (more interconnected parts)
Better for a wider range of objectives (e.g. aligning discord, generating ideas, solving problems)
Therefore, more planning required

“Your care and enthusiasm for delivering an extraordinary experience came through in every moment and every interaction. The smiles on the faces of the live audience and the level of engagement in the virtual rooms are true testaments to your amazing work. Jane Wakely, Chief Marketing Officer, PepsiCo
“Who do you need on your team? While some workshops are simple enough to be delivered in-house, others are important or complex enough to need a third party specialist fulfilling two distinct but linked roles - Experience Design and Facilitation…”
